What is a Software License?

You can download UMAJIN Creative for free and it will run in 'Demo Mode'. This will allow you to use all the functions in UMAJIN Creative except for 'Save' and 'Print'. UMAJIN Creative requires that a Software License be entered so that you can Save and Print your documents. When you purchase UMAJIN Creative, a Software License will be emailed to you (or it will be provided with your Installation CD-ROM). Note: If you purchased UMAJIN Creative but still DID NOT receive a Software License, please make sure that your email SPAM filter will allow emails from This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , then Contact Us.

How to License UMAJIN Creative - It's Easy:

  1. If you have not already downloaded UMAJIN Creative, do so now at:  http://www.umajin.com/try-it
  2. Install UMAJIN Creative from the download or CD-ROM.
  3. Click on the UMAJIN Creative Software License email that you received; click anywhere inside the email text.
    Select the entire email text and copy it.
         For Mac: Press command-a then command-c
         For Windows: Press ctrl-a then ctrl-c
  4. Start UMAJIN Creative. It will ask you to enter your Software License. If you do not wish to License your product, simply press the 'DEMO' button. You will be alowed to run in Demo mode.
  5. In the UMAJIN License window click on the 'Paste/Check' button.
That's it! All done!

How to License UMAJIN Creative That is on a Different Computer Than Your Email:

If you need to license UMAJIN Creative that is on a different computer than where your email is, then here are the instructions:

  1. From your email program, find the UMAJIN Software License email. Go to your 'File' menu and select 'Save-As'.
  2. Save the email as a 'Text' file.
  3. Copy that text file to a data key or floppy disk.
  4. Copy that text file to the computer where you will be using UMAJIN Creative. 
  5. Double-click on the text file to open it. Follow the instructions in "How to License UMAJIN Creative" above.

Here is another method, just in case you are using a 'web email' program:

  1. From your email program, find the UMAJIN Software License email. Select it so that you can read it.
  2. Click anywhere inside the email text. Select the entire email text and copy it.
         For Mac: Press command-a then command-c
         For Windows: Press ctrl-a then ctrl-c
  3. Open up a text program, such as Microsoft Word. Create a new document and 'paste' the text you just copied.
         For Mac: Press command-v
         For Windows: Press ctrl-v
  4. Save that new file to your computer desktop.
  5. Copy that text file to a data key or floppy disk.
  6. Copy that text file to the computer where you will be using UMAJIN Creative. 
  7. Double-click on the text file to open it. Follow the instructions in "How to License UMAJIN Creative" above.

How to License UMAJIN Creative with the License File (Schools and Institutions only) 

If you want to license UMAJIN Creative for all users on a computer, then the license file is the easiest way to go.
When you purchased UMAJIN Creative you were sent a license email that also had the license file (config.tab) attached.

  1. Install UMAJIN Creative and quit UMAJIN Creative.
  2. Place the config.tab file into the Umajin directory that is in your Programs (PC) or Applications (Mac) folder.
  3. Start UMAJIN.
